Do you like children? Do you like seeing their happy faces as they are fed? Would you like to make an impact in your community? Then this summer, you have a unique opportunity to contribute. Beginning June 12th and running through August 18th, we will be helping serve children who normally receive free or reduced priced meals at school. The process is very easy and only takes about an hour. Our site is the same as last year in the Warren Haynes neighborhood (across from Biltmore Commons).
What We Need
In order for Acton to support this program, we need multiple volunteers who are willing to spend about an hour from around 12 til 1:30 distributing meals. This is a daily program (Monday – Friday). If volunteers are able to come more than one day a week that will help even more. In addition to regular volunteers, two or three people are needed who are willing to commit to being “site supervisors.” At least one such person will have to be at the feeding site every day.
How to Volunteer
If you volunteered last year and signed-up through the online “volunteer tracker,” fill out the form here. You should receive an e-mail very soon asking you to update your information for 2017.
If you’ve never volunteered, follow this link: Summer Feeding Sign-up. Make sure you scroll down and follow the instructions for NEW volunteers to complete your registration process.
